Attorney Patrick Benedek
Patrick Benedek has been an attorney for over 20 years in both the United States and Brazil and is licensed to practice law in both jurisdictions. He obtained law degrees from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, and Pontifícia Universidade Católica in Rio de Janeiro, and has also earned an MBA in Business and Economy Law from Getúlio Vargas Foundation in Rio de Janeiro.
With an international background and legal experience, Patrick provides strategic advice to corporate and individual clients, in both the domestic and international arenas.
Attorney since 1996 (2007 in the U.S.), Patrick has represented clients from a variety of industries, including construction, international trade, internet, entertainment and new media, sports, real estate, retail, financing, and transportation.
His practice focuses on representing public and corporate entities, as well as individual clients in business and contractual matters, from negotiating and drafting contracts, to litigating and enforcing them. Patrick is an experienced litigator and uses his litigation skills to both minimize the risks of litigation when constructing agreements, or advising clients who face imminent disputes.

Recently, Patrick has acted as consulting attorney in a transnational matter involving international petroleum and natural gas disputes, advising on Comparative Law issues, working in the transition between Civil Law and Common Law aspects of the dispute.
While in Brazil, he was in-house counsel for an engineering corporation; and worked as the supervising attorney at the Banking Division of the Consumers’ National Federation, in Rio de Janeiro, where he managed over 400 lawsuits against financial institutions.
Mr. Benedek is the current President of the Board of Director of the Brazil-California Chamber of Commerce and participates actively in its Legislative and International Trade Committees. Based on his experience and dedication to the Brazilian community, Patrick has been appointed as outside general counsel to the Consulate-General of Brazil in Los Angeles, providing legal counseling to Brazilian nationals in a variety of legal matters.
With first-hand knowledge and experience in both nations’ legal systems, Patrick is at a unique position to provide quality consultative and legal services to clients with matters involving the law of either or both countries.
